DPF Gaskets: failure and its way out

Filters are very important for the engines of the cars. They make sure that polluted air does not reach the engine. And also it helps to clean the whole system clean as well. Why do they fail?

 There are several reasons why a gasket can fail:

Uneven force: This is caused due to the construction of the floor where the gasket will be fitted. If the surface is uneven the gasket will not fit properly and when the bolts are tightened there will be an uneven force on the gasket due to the unparalleled surface. This part you need to make sure does not happen.

Non smooth surface: The non smooth surface can also cause problem of leakage. As in this case the surface is non smooth, so after fitting the gasket there will be a few gaps in between the floor and the gasket. Through these gaps moisture and dirt can enter through to the engines and damage them.

Temperature: If the gasket that is fixed with the filter is too sensitive to the temperature, either cold or heat it can cause the same kind of problem. In the heat it will expand and will result in a few gaps which will lead to the leakage and for the cooling temperature, it may contract in size and put a lot of pressure where the bolts are fitted. So to make sure these things do not happen you need make sure that you use temperature flexible gaskets and also those types of blots which are strong enough to sustain enough pressure.
