Know about the drones and its uses

Introduction
The drones are commonly known as unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). On the other hand, it is also referred as the unpiloted aerial vehicle as well as a remotely piloted aircraft (RPA) by International Civil Aviation Organization. It is basically an aircraft without any human pilot aboard.
The drones are defined as a powerful, aerial vehicle which does not carry a human operator and it uses the aerodynamic forces to provide vehicle lift. It can fly autonomously or can be even piloted remotely. On the other hand, it can be recoverable or expandable and can carry the lethal or nonlethal payload.
Uses
There are various applications of drones. Apart from the military applications, some civil aviation uses have also been developed which includes acrobatic aerial footage in the filmmaking, aerial surveying of the crops, search and rescue operation, counting wildlife, inspecting pipelines and power lines, delivering medical supplies to remote or distant region etc.
Apart from all these, there are some other uses, such as, reconnaissance operations, forest fire detection, border patrol missions, coordinating humanitarian, surveillance, large accident investigation, detection of illegal hunting, landslide measurement, crowd monitoring, illegal landfill detection etc.

Existing Drones or UAV systems
The UAVs or drones have been developed by many countries all over the world. The use of the unmanned aerial systems is not limited to the state powers. For this reason, the non-state actors are also likely to build or buy as well as operate the drones.
The export of the drone technology is generally capable of carrying around 500 kg payload. The area is restricted within 300 km. But it is likely to vary is different country. China as well as America have designed some of the best UAV designs. But the applications of these drones are generally limited by lack of the high endurance domestic engines, operational experience as well as the satellite infrastructure etc.
Classification

The drones are basically classified into two types, such as, autonomous aircraft and remotely piloted aircraft. The autonomous aircraft is generally regarded as unsuitable for the regulation due to the legal liabilities and issues.
